Boating in Beijing
Since Sundays are a slow day for us all i thought i would find something i could look forward to in Beijing. You can definitely count me in for an evening of boating on the river. Anybody know of some other fun Beijing activities? Or just some big city activities in general? I would love to know your ideas!

Thanks to The Beijinger for the photo.

Wow! I like boating, especially handling the paddles.
The photo is very nice. It must be comfortable in the boat on the river.

You should buy a bike when you go to Beijing, that’s what I am planning to do after I go back there.
Then you can ride it around the whole city. Like Hutong, the special community in Beijing. But be careful, you will get lost in those narrow streets and crowed houses.
Wuwu, I begin to miss Beijing so much!!!

In my personal opinion…
Top 5 things to do in Beijing:
(From a tourist’s perspective)
(In descending order)
5. Hu Tong Strolling or Biking…there are some cool Christian art stores in the hutong’s too and while you’re doing that, you might as well check out the drum tower
4. Summer Palace (or others prefer Forbidden City or 3. Tiannamen Square at sunset- changing of the guards
2. Acrobats Show
1. Great Wall- I recommend Ming Tian Yu
Top 5 things to do in Beijing:
(From the perspective of a foreigner who lives in China):
5. Hanging out at The Bookworm (largest English bookstore in Beijing)
4. Shopping at the Pearl Market, or Silk Street, or Sunny Golden, etc.
3. Hanging out at Starbucks
2. Grocery Shopping at Jenny Lou’s and Nick’s
1. Eating at Grandma’s Kitchen or Pete’s Tex Mex
(But there is also TGI Friday’s, Sizzler, Annie’s Italian, and other great restaurants!)
And I loved taking the subway !
Get a “That’s Beijing” Magazine when you get there.
I would also add Wang Fu Jing Street to the lists if there was a #6 (Good for shopping in the day, and eating and strolling at night- this is the place they have all the crazy foods (on a stick)- like scorpions on a stick; or snakeskin, or silk worms, etc…)
