I Should Do This More Often
I should do what more often, you ask? Stay organized. Being organized is an amazing feeling when it actually happens. Today, a thoughtful friend suggested that i make a “to do” list to organize the chaos currently taking place in my brain. So i did. And on the back of my list i made another list of the things i wanted to accomplish today. There is a much greater since of accomplishment when i can cross things off the list. I added a few more things as the day went on, but i also got to cross a few off and that felt good. Someone please tell me this: how do you find the discipline to stay organized consistently??
P.S. I just realized that packing is not on my list. That one should be the obvious one, but maybe it helps you see how chaotic these days really are.

At work, I live and die by the to-do list. And I have a day planner, with my appointments highlighted in yellow, and my post-work stuff in orange. It looks like I’m OCD, but it really works for me to separate out the colors and associate them with what’s going on that day. Then again, life outside of work isn’t all that complicated (for now…) I’m savoring that, since it wasn’t long ago that it was nutso.
So yep. To-do lists. Planners. Highlighters. Sometimes I write a letter on my hand to remind me of something I have to do. All I need is a letter. Or I’ll leave a note on my mirror. Or I’ll text myself. ha ha Seriously, it’s the little things that make a difference! And I find that the cleaner my work and living spaces are, the easier it is for me to focus and be organized.
Godspeed, Biscuet.

my iPhone.
sole purpose i got one. my life is on iCal and mobileMe. i set up alarms and alerts on important deadlines/meetings on iCal and always check it before i commit to something so that i don’t double book myself.
it is a life saver. i know you have one too so take advantage of all the neat organization tools apple has to offer!

Check out the 10th comment on your blog on “Being Disciplined”. To do lists are essential, whether work or at home. And if I do something extra that wasn’t on my to do list, I add it to the list just so I can scratch it off.
Before I go home for the day, I start my list for the next day. Time alone with God first thing in the morning always makes things go smoother.

Dude… I really can’t remember how I came across your blog of wonder and delights, I have been reading it for the last few months. I was in China last year visiting some mates so they may have mentioned it to me, or alternatively a friendly bunch of pixies and other woodland type creatures may have come into my garden one night and planted seeds, that when blossomed spelt out biscuet.com… However I came across you though I am pleased to extend the virtual hand of friendship.
With regards to the whole organisational thing, I prefer to embrace the chaos of listless living…besides writing down a list would just be another thing to add to my list of things to do.
