Twitter is…
Twitter is the People Magazine for all the non-important people. That’s right, i said it. And yes, i’m on Twitter so call me whatever you want. You can be as defensive as you want or you can roll on the floor laughing, but Twitter.com exists so the non-importants can feel important. We pick up a People Magazine while waiting in line at Publix because we are interested in what George Clooney puts on his hotdog. It also fascinates us to see what Christian Bale did on his vacation and what he wore to dinner. Why do we care about the tiny details of these people’s lives? I have no idea. I personally dislike People Magazine or any other celebrity magazine. But, in our constant search for celebrity status we flock to twitter.com to create our own People Magazine where we pretend that people care about our every move. Next up, a website that takes your picture every few seconds and posts it online. It’ll be the paparazzi for the non-importants.

Good post, my twitter life is off again on again thing that is well described above… one thing I think I like the most about twitter is the ability to post a tweet when you publish a new blog post. There are people who don’t rss my blog that always read it when I post to twitter. Without that, I am not sure how much I would continue to use it. There are good points and bad but I like your description.

Much like a full blown blog except you have to get your thoughts down in 140 characters. Have you considered your blog with the same analogy? I suppose you could update your twitter feed and blog with posts that would be a self righteous in manner but it doesn’t have to be that way.
I have made connections with people that I probably wouldn’t have connected with if it wasn’t for twitter. Scott is one of those. I probably wouldn’t have seen this blog post if it wasn’t for twitter. There is also the point that where people connect with you on levels that you don’t even realize. I look at twitter as a way to love on others and connect with them in everyday life. It’s an opportunity that I wouldn’t ordinarily have while I’m on the road.
Twitter has also become a live life stream platform. You can update your twitter feed from all kinds of different sources. You can also have twitter updating other life stream applications. Other call life streams social media but I like the term life stream better. It’s an awesome way to be transparent in your life to others. Making yourself available and open. I say any chance I get to open a door and connect with someone, bring it on.
I may be updating twitter with things going on in my life but hopefully God can be glorified in my everyday ramblings.

Maybe I could just use this avenue for my twitter since I don’t know how to really twitter.

Qiqi told me that she is going to open her own blog, does that mean she will twitter? Actually, I don’t know the meaning of this word, I just checked on my ED, it says ” When birds twitter, they make a lot of short, high-pitched sounds.” A sparrow?
