I know a wealthy preacher
he knows just what to say
and if you give him cash or coin
he’ll help you find your way
if what i’ve heard is really true
and love should come for free
then he can keep his heart of stone
because he don’t love me.

I know a man named Jesus
he loved until he died
and after doing nothing wrong
took the bullet for his bride
if what i’ve heard is really true

then i can love this Jesus too
because he first loved me.
