You ate turtle?! I’m not sure if I could do it, especially if it was like the whole turtle sitting on my plate. This is precisely why I avoid or don’t eat at pig roasts.
I think that rotating table is the coolest thing ever, though. It makes so much sense!

I MISS CHINA but I DO NOT miss that merry-go-round table and the food on it.
Oh, how I’m thankful for American food…
…but i AM ready to get back there.
Sweet video.

You didn’t say how good or bad the turtle was. The rest of the food looked great. You’ll have to let us know how the banquet turned out. You looked kinda nervous about filming the banquet.
Love You….

Rachel - You could do it! You just have to take one bite and realize that it tastes a million times better than it look. And yes, the rotating table rocks!
Beth’s Dad - The occasion for the banquet was the end of another school year. They always love to do something special for the foreign teachers at the end of each year.
Proctor - The food is amazing here. I think your next experience will change your mind about Chinese food. Just let me take you out.
Amy - You’re not going to starve. Just trust me when i say you need to try everything and i promise you will find new foods that you love.
Dad - The turtle was good. It was spicy and flavorful. The downside is that it was hard to find good pieces of meat. And yes, i was nervous about filming there because i’m pretty sure making a video at the dinner table is not the right thing to do in such a formal setting.

Amazing!… I’m curious to know if turtle was similar in taste to anything we’d normally eat.. you are brave!! Thanks for these fascinating insights into Chinese culture and life : )

When in Rome…..
you might eat tortellini when in Rome.
I guess you just get turtlini when in China.
I know you don’t get cheese much over there, so I just served you some. HA!
I have eaten turtle before that came out of one of our ponds when I was growing up, but I never tried to eat one whole.
