A Traveler’s Who’s Who

February 20, 2010

In the second week of November i packed a small suitcase and set off on what became a whirlwind 14-week adventure spanning about 38,500 miles across 3 countries and 19 cities. I’ve met some amazing new friends and reconnected with some remarkable people. Throughout my travels i connected people with the story of what’s happening [...]

Crowd Surfing

February 18, 2010

My friend teaches some of the foreign teachers’ kids in Beijing. She sent me a message the other saying that one of her 6th grade students wrote a paper about his experience in Thailand during the Winter break. One of the highlights of his time in Thailand was when he saw me crowd surfing among [...]

Thailand is behind us now

February 5, 2010

I’ve been away from the blog world for quite some time now and i must admit that it’s been good. It’s with great resistance that i’m coming back and once again documenting my life for you. Taking several days to not think about about writing here has been wonderful. The only reason i’m coming back [...]

They Suck Your Blood

January 25, 2010

Deep Discussions in Strange Places

January 22, 2010

This is my friend, Karl. Karl is one of the kindest and most intellectual people i have met in quite some time. He’s a thinker, but he’s humble about it. Talking with Karl makes my brain feel like it’s in the gym pumping iron. I love it. When in Thailand, many deep discussions happen around [...]

January 21, 2010

Last night i sat at a restaurant with friends for about 4 hours. We decided that there’s nothing to do in Chiang Mai, Thailand after dark unless you’re into going out and getting into trouble (drinking and prostitution is the night life here). So, with that in mind, here’s a typical day:

Wake up early.
Take a [...]

A Glimpse at Bangkok

January 19, 2010

Here’s a short snapshot of what Bangkok was like during my one day visit:

Here is the aforementioned 50-meter tall statue of Buddha.

Bangkok

January 18, 2010

I’m in Bangkok, Thailand today. Absolutely beautiful. Beautiful people. Beautiful land. Beautiful architecture. Beautiful food.
At a local temple i saw a 3-year-old boy kneeling at the feet of a 50-meter tall statue of Buddha. Heart-breaking.
Just before lunch i rode a wooden boat through the thin water canals of the city. Video of that experience coming [...]
