Philip Hayden Foundation

During my time at Auburn and Grace Campus we launched a large-scale fundraising campaign to impact the world. We call it Give Grace and one thing Give Grace is about is helping orphans around the globe. Recently, i wrote about my friends visiting Bethany Village in Uganda. The orphanage at Bethany Village is one of the orphanages that Give Grace sponsors. Also, Give Grace sponsors many children at the Philip Hayden Foundation near Beijing, China. Here’s a brief excerpt about PHF,

The primary work of Philip Hayden Foundation is the establishment of their children’s villages in Mainland China, where they take in at-risk and special-needs orphans, love them, provide them surgeries to correct their special needs conditions, and work to find loving families to adopt them. Approximately 95% of the orphans in their care are special needs children, most of whom were abandoned by their parents because they were born “broken”. PHF’s philosophy is to take in these so-called “broken” children and transform their hopelessness into beautiful stories of redemption and love.

While in Auburn we would spend day after day talking about these kids in China so now that i’m here i thought it would be perfect to go visit them and play with the children that people all the way back in Auburn love so much. My weekend was amazing. The kids are beautiful. The staff at PHF are amazing and very generous. The orphanage is beautiful which gives the children an amazing environment to grow up in. I haven’t quite processed everything, but i know i was changed by my experience there. Check out the video below and then visit these other websites to find out how you can get involved with loving orphans around the world.

What orphanage have you been to that tugs at you to return?

Also, while at PHF i learned that it is the place where Stephen Curtis Chapman’s daughter, Maria, was adopted from. Can anyone confirm that?

what orphanage have you been to that tugs you to return? well, i dont even like to call it an orphanage, because really my friend has become mother to 45 indian children, so they’re not orphans. http://www.lifeatkhomes.blogspot.com. simply amazing.

Excellent clip. Can I either copy it or buy a copy from you? Our son, is the second little boy shown in the video. He has the water bottle.
His name is Drew and we are expected to travel to adopt him this Fall.

What a sweet reminder of PHF’s heart through your video! We barely missed meeting one another….I was there early June through August! Thanks for sharing! BTW…Auburn is definitely getting represented at PHF, I met several AU students on a short-term group that came through and I am an Auburn grad, myself!
